St. Joan of Arc-St. George School Reviews

I woud like to extend a great big 'good job' to all the St. Joan-St. George students and staff. With the recent closing of St. Pat's, St Joan-St Geoge has certainly been more than helpful/accomadating to families that were effected by the closing. The expierenced staff has been very welcoming for all and should not go unoticed. I would also like to mention that the new Principal Mrs. Jenkins has certainly made a great impact on the school early on as well. Job well done to all and God Bless.

it's a great school. the teachers help the students as best as they can. there is also after school and before school help if your child was absent or didn't understand a lesson.

I just wanted to say that my children have been attending St Joan for a few years and they love it .the school has assited one of my children for 2 years with extra tutoring and it has been wonderfull . I just joind P.A.L in Sept. and found them very inviting, and friendly ,I did not see any cliques ,they do listen to suggestions and try their best {as they are volunteers who donate alot of time and effort} if there was a clique i dont see it and now volunteer as well . Miss Lemieux is just a wonderfull person .

I am currently in the junior high at St. Joan-St. George School. Some people might think that everyone gets along here because we're a Catholic School. Well I won't be the first to tell you that there is cliques. Fights rarely break out and if they do they are easily shut down by the other kids. (Not using violence) You have to be organized to be here. Miss Lemieux, our principal, is the sweetest person you could ever meet. She handles every problem and never judges you.

The new Pre-K here is just what this school needed. I was close to pulling my older child out when I decided to sign on for another year. This teacher will make a difference. With this kind of ahead start your child won't need extra help! They were wise to get this program up and running. I can't say enough about it. There is no music or gym in the school. This is the only negative I can say about the upper grades but it does not affect the Pre-K.

A wonderful family oriented school. The education the children receive is excellent. People reading the negative comments below, must realize that NO Catholic school is equipped to handle learning disabilities. There is no funding for this. Public schools get the funding and thus have S.P.E.D. teachers. Thats the facts.

At best, the leadership of this school can be described as apathetic. Parents with children who require additional staff assistance in learning will find themselves growing more and more frustrated over time. The principal's seemingly uncaring attitude towards children who fall behind, for whatever reason, is not conducive to addressing and correcting the problem. Parents Assisting in Learning, otherwise known as P.A.L., is nothing but an exclusive clique of parents who only have the best interests of their children in mind. If you are not a member of the clique, don't bother signing up for P.A.L. as your thoughts and ideas will largely go unnoticed. While the lower tuition may seem attractive to you, keep in mind the old adage; 'You get what you pay for.'

I went to this school, as did my father. I have such wonderful memories. Words cannot describe the attention and concern of the principal of the school. I am so happy my son is going here. I feel he getting a fantastic education . He his doing great and just loves his teachers. I also love the fact that his is getting a religious bond to God during his education.

If your child is smart to begin with, he/she will do very well here, but do NOT expect ANY extra help for your child unless you provide it on your own. Every year the teachers have tried to get me to have my child tested for ADD. I believe that because of this, every teacher has pretty much given up on trying to teach my child. They just keep sending notes home to me that the child is failing and that he needs help. Unfortunately, they don't offer to give him the help he requires. They just keep expecting me to teach him what he needs to know. Since I'm not a teacher, this means an additional $25.00/hr. for tutoring. After paying over $2,000.00/yr. for tuition, there is nothing left over for tutoring. K-4 grades better than higher grades but all lacking in my opinion.

I am a former student of this school. I also have ADD. Need I say more. If you are looking for a good catholic school that can help a student with ADD or ADHD dont look for it here or at any other catholic school. The schools only want children who have no LD's. Its too bad becaues in my opinion they are turning their backs on some very good kids, that with the right teacher's can be any thing they want to be. Oh by the way I am know a teacher.

St.Joan of Arc/St. George gave our daughter the best foundation in education, morality and spirituality that will serve her well for the rest of her life. The teachers and staff are very involved with the students and welcome and encourage parents to be involved in all aspects of their children's lives. Our daughter is currently an honor student at Holyoke Catholic and we know that her K-8th years at this school has kept her motivated to reach her life's goals. Thanks, SJA/SG!!

This school is a blessing to me and my son. He came to St Joan from the public system which he was getting lost in and excelled beyond my dreams. This is one of the best private schools om the spfingfield area. I would recomennd this school to anyone who wants a good education for their child with good structure and care.
